Kas (Antiphellos)
The ruins of Antiphellos'are spread around the town of Kas, which lies at the neck of a small peninsula in the Mediterranean. Its location makes it one of the most beautiful sites on the south-west Anatolian coast. From what we can glean from Pliny, the original Lycian name of this ancient city was Habesos.

Its most remarkable monument, situated in the middle of town, is the Lycian monumental tomb, now the symbol ofKas. In addition to the small theatre, there is a large Doric tomb inside of which are some very interesting decorations, dating it to the 4th century B.C. Kas today is a very attractive resort favoured by those who prefer a quiet holiday. There are many hotels and guests houses along the shore, and outdoor restaurants. Nearby is the equally attractive village and port of Kalkan, which is becoming more and more popular with owners of small yachts. Most of the old houses have been very well restored to serve as family guests house.
